West Michigan Cerakote attended Dr. Swanson's 65th Annual Christmas Party at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital this past weekend, bringing along three prizes to raffle off. One patient's name was drawn to win a free Cerakote job to customize his wheelchair. Two other children's names were drawn as winners of a custom tumbler (one Spiderman-themed and the other Disney-themed), filled with candy and small toys.
About Dr. Swanson's Mary Free Bed Christmas Party
Dr. Swanson's Mary Free Bed Christmas Party is an annual holiday celebration, hosted by the Alfred B. Swanson Foundation for children who are patients at Mary Free Bed. It was first started by Dr. Alfred Swanson in 1954. Swanson died in April 2016, but his wife, Dr. Genevieve DeGroot-Swanson, and the Alfred B. Swanson Foundation continue to uphold the annual tradition.
